Mini-Residency in Excellence in Self-Ligating Orthodontics

In this course, you will be able to treat all types of malocclusions in your patients using the Self-Ligating System, with extensive and practical content based on solid clinical and teaching experience.

Course Details

Day 1

Content: Morning (from 09:00 to 13:00) – theoretical

  1. Introduction to the course;
  2. Advanced orthodontic mechanics;
  3. Treatment in mixed dentition.

Afternoon (from 14:00 to 18:00) – practical

Practical demonstration in typodont and hands-on

  1. Insertion and removal of wires with distance traction;
  2. Correction of rotations;
  3. Dentoalveolar expansion;
  4. Intrusion and extrusion with superelastic wires;
  5. Hands-on with a mannequin.

Day 2

Content: Morning (from 09:00 to 13:00) – theoretical

  1. Treatment of dentoalveolar atresia and posterior crossbite;
  2. Treatment of anterior open bite;
  3. Treatment of deep overbite.

Afternoon (from 14:00 to 18:00) – theoretical

  1. Treatment of anteroposterior problems. Concept of treatment in childhood and adolescence for better utilization of the self-ligating system principles;
  2. Treatment of Class II malocclusion;
  3. Treatment of Class III malocclusion.

Day 3

Content: Morning (from 09:00 to 13:00) – theoretical

  1. Orthodontic planning aimed at simplifying clinical practice;
  2. Clinical seminar. Reserved space to assist students in planning clinical cases from their practices;
  3. Course closure.

At the end of the training, participants are entitled to a Training Certificate in accordance with Regulatory Decree No. 35/2002, as well as certification recognised and issued by SIGO, a governmental entity, as stipulated in Decree-Law No. 14/2017, of 26 January.

Our training, and consequently our certificates, also comply with the requirements of the Labour Code, Law No. 93/2019, of 4 September, which establishes the obligation for continuous training in companies, stipulating a minimum duration of 40 hours annually per worker.

Requirements

  • Hold a higher education qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
  • Prior and mandatory completion of the Admission Form.
  • Submission of the following documents:
  1. Curriculum Vitae;
  2. Copy of Qualification Certificate;
  3. Copy of Citizen Card/Identity Card and NIF;
  4. Copy of OMD card or, if foreign, local Dental Order card;
  5. Civil Liability Insurance (if applicable – only for courses with a clinical practical component).
