Immersion Course in Gingivoplasty

The immersion course enables the Dentist to plan, perform, and resolve aesthetic clinical cases using the Clinical Crown Lengthening Surgery – Gingivoplasty.

Course Details

  • Enhancing the Dentist’s surgical knowledge of Gingivoplasty, improving aesthetic rehabilitation planning;
  • Theoretical and Laboratory Foundation;
  • Training students to perform the Gingivoplasty technique associated with osteotomy and osteoplasty;
    Resolution of retreatments for aesthetic cases associated with ceramic laminates.

1st SESSION – THEORETICAL

  • Duration: 5 hours
    CONTENT:
  • Anatomy, histology, and physiology of the periodontal complex;
  • Key concepts for clinical practice: new nomenclatures of biological space and periodontal biotype;
  • Aesthetic concepts (smile harmonisation), facial thirds, and dental proportion;
  • Periodontal instruments;
  • Patient evaluation (clinical examination and complementary tests);
  • Diagnosis and correction of gummy smile;
  • Surgical principles – Basic surgical principles (indications and contraindications, anatomical considerations, anaesthesia, incision, types of flaps, sutures, and post-operative care);
  • Clinical crown lengthening technique – Gingivoplasty (Flapless, conventional, indication for osteotomy/osteoplasty, and surgical strategies);
  • Gingival peeling;
  • 2.0 Periodontal Plastic Surgery with aesthetic rehabilitation.

2nd SESSION – LABORATORY

  • Duration: 3 hours
    CONTENT:
  • Hands-on training on mannequins – Laboratory.

At the end of the training, participants are entitled to a Training Certificate in accordance with Regulatory Decree No. 35/2002, as well as certification recognised and issued by SIGO, a governmental entity, as stipulated in Decree-Law No. 14/2017, of 26 January.

Our training, and consequently our certificates, also comply with the requirements of the Labour Code, Law No. 93/2019, of 4 September, which establishes the obligation for continuous training in companies, stipulating a minimum duration of 40 hours annually per worker.

Requirements

  • Admission Requirements

    • Must hold a higher education degree in Dentistry;
    • Prior and mandatory completion of the Admission Form.

    Submission of the following documents:

    • Curriculum Vitae;
    • Copy of Qualification Certificate;
    • Copy of Citizen Card/Identity Card and Tax Identification Number (NIF);
    • Copy of OMD membership card or, for foreign applicants, a Dentist registration from the local dental authority;
    • Civil Liability Insurance (if applicable – only for courses with a clinical practice component).
