THEORETICAL PROGRAMME – FIRST DAY

• Basic Definitions: Lipedema, lymphoedema, venous disease, and ulcers;
• Aetiology and Pathophysiology with Clinical Case Discussions;
• Diagnosis: Criteria for diagnosis and differentiation from other conditions;
• Common Symptoms: Identifying characteristic signs and symptoms;
• Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT): Explanation of its components (manual lymphatic drainage, compression, exercises, and skin care);
• Compression Therapy – Intermittent pneumatic pressure;
• Tape and its applications in venous, lymphatic, and arterial pathologies;
• Eccentric compression following polidocanol application;
• Shockwaves;
• Tecar Therapy;
• Electro-stimulation;
• Physiotherapeutic management of lymphocele;
• Low-power laser;
• Cockett’s Syndrome physiotherapeutic treatment;
• Arteriovenous fistula physiotherapeutic treatment;
• Venous and arterial ulcers;
• Aspiration impulse pumps and their use in phlebology rehabilitation;
• Tibiotarsal joint rehabilitation;
• Post-operative care for varicose vein surgery;
• Immediate Post-Surgery Care: What to monitor and how to manage complications;
• Therapeutic Exercises: Recommended types and their benefits.

PRACTICAL PATIENT WORK – SECOND DAY

• Manual lymphatic drainage and anastomoses;
• Skin care;
• COMPRESSIVE THERAPY:
  • Multi-layer bandaging;
  • Velcro devices;
  • Compression stockings;
  • Unna’s Boot;
• Muscle rehabilitation and exercise prescription;
• Application of elastic bandages (tape);
• Technologies and treatment protocols;
• Laser for wound care;
• Pain management;
• Intermittent pneumatic compression;
• Ligament laxity evaluation and treatment;
• Lipedema around the world;
• Post-operative care and compression selection;
• Main post-operative complications;
• Conservative treatment and its importance.

At the end of the training, participants are entitled to a Training Certificate in accordance with Regulatory Decree No. 35/2002, as well as certification recognised and issued by SIGO, a governmental entity, as stipulated in Decree-Law No. 14/2017, of 26 January.

Our training, and consequently our certificates, also comply with the requirements of the Labour Code, Law No. 93/2019, of 4 September, which establishes the obligation for continuous training in companies, stipulating a minimum duration of 40 hours annually per worker.
